Reflection on Online Microteaching

My micro-teaching lesson I felt comfortable in the online space. I enjoyed the interactive options, online teaching and learning space offers. I felt learners all have a unique experience. I liked that. The focus was put on that interactive PowerPoint, that I created on canvas as I feel it engaged learners and drew their attention in. I enjoyed the game we played on Twinkle Go as I feel. It was a fun way to consolidate what the learners have learned during the lesson and it is fun because they can eat a lock on using the code to participate on their own computer.

I learned a lot about creating fun and interactive presentations through canvabira exploring the website, as well as watching tutorials made by other teachers on

YouTube. I also discovered many online, collaborative tools, such as Twinkle Go, magma, Kahoot, and Quizlet. I feel I could’ve added a way to gauge learners understanding, physically. I felt understanding was not adequately, monitored during the online session, and I could’ve possibly added an interactive tool, such as Magma in the students could write their sentences, and we could all view them together. if I could repeat this lesson online, that is what I would do differently I also would have not spoken so fast as to make sure learners do not get confused. I feel the online tools I have chosen were appropriate for the lesson, however, I would in future download my presentation as a PDF and share it to Blackboard Collaborate so that I could see the chat box as well as see any raised hands during the online session, overall I think this experience has helped me learn how to manage my time better which has been an issue in the past. This is also given menu and fun, interactive games, for play-based learning within the classroom.

The interactivity of the online tools was such a great way to engage learners during the lesson. Offering multiple opportunities for the learners to participate and interact with the content helps them recall and apply the information better in future. Overall, the lesson was fun and a great learning opportunity for improving my own teaching.
